Jitesh Ubrani, a manager at market research firm IDC, told CNET that stepping into hardware could allow OpenAI to broaden its reach across multiple platforms and strengthen its presence in more everyday settings.
“By teaming up with a hardware startup, OpenAI can help secure its lead across different device categories and use cases,” Ubrani explained. “Before the rise of AI, innovation in smart home hardware had started to plateau. By joining forces, both companies could tap into new growth opportunities by bringing AI directly into the home.”
